NRS FISHING TOURNAMENT was a blast!!!
The Scoop June 2024
Q2 Scoop
The second quarter of 20224 was busy for NRSPOA! Dave Weston organized another successful annual NRS fishing tournament. All of our neighborhood anglers enjoyed a great day on the water, with fun side-bets placed and fish caught by all. Faith Talley was a huge help with post tournament festivities by leading the set-up and providing an abundance of delicious food! If you have an idea for another social event, please contact the board! We are looking for volunteers to chair specific events.
Our parks, including the boat ramp, have continued to be maintained while adding some new signs at Lakeside Park. In order to protect the green space and provide a level of safety to park-users, no motorized vehicles are allowed past the new posted signs. Additionally, the NRSPOA has renewed our "no trespassing" agreement with the MCSD. This allows us to contact the MCSD to report trespassing at all of our private parks.
There are some big plans for 2024! Improvements to the boat ramp and dockage will start taking form, while several social events will be scheduled – an Easter event; fishing tournament; golf event; and possibly a pickle ball event. Lots of fun to be had while meeting new and old neighbors! On a serious note, there will also be attention drawn to our neighborhood drainage problems with plans to work with the county to address the issue.
Plans are underway for boat ramp upgrades. This will be a time-consuming process as much permitting is required to start. In the meantime, the board is making repairs as needed. There will be an informal gathering at 9:00am on July 6th to discuss plans. If you are a regular user of our private boat ramp and wish to contribute to the discussion, you are welcome to attend.
Our general membership meeting is in November and will be here before we know it! The board is accepting written notices of candidacy. Please consider a 3-year term - it goes by quickly and your time is appreciated by all of our neighbors.
Stay tuned for more updates – watch for signs! There will be more to report in The Scoop next quarter!
Have a Great Summer!!
